Zoe Pohlmann
Zoe is the Founder and Creative Director of Your Home Designs, a Newcastle-based building and interior design studio she founded in 2013. Since then, she and her team have worked across 800+ residential projects; renovations, extensions, new homes, secondary dwellings, duplexes and small developments.
Alongside her professional experience, Zoe has built and renovated an extensive property portfolio of her own. Personally, she has undertaken more than 11 renovation and development projects, taking properties from initial purchase and feasibility through design, approvals, construction and completion. Several of these projects have gone on to achieve street-record sales, giving Zoe first-hand experience in making the decisions that influence not only how a home looks and functions, but also its long-term value.
Having experienced the process from both sides, as a designer and as a homeowner, renovator and developer, Zoe understands the realities that sit behind a successful project: where to invest, what to consider before committing to a design, how early decisions can impact budgets and approvals, and the costly mistakes that are far easier to avoid before construction begins.
It’s this combination of professional expertise and real-world experience that Zoe brings to Before You Build, practical advice shaped by more than a decade in residential design and her own experience putting those principles into practice.
